(mind you he has never eaten foreign objects before) 4 days later he came home tired weak and ready to be himself again... he had a setback... another week in the hospital. After a week and a half in the hospital total and $6,000 vet bill... I brought home my love with ME. We adapted, and were doing great with feeding, meds and patience... another setback, he has now started gagging horribly while eating, thrusting his neck and body and hacking up very THICK mucus with small ammounts of food. I feel so helpless... this is devastating... my 96lb RR is now 75lbs. :( We have tried food in all sorts of consistancies, textures, temperatures.... any suggestions???? you know how RR are when they eat... its like they have NEVER eaten before in their life!!! to see him struggle just to lap up a small ammount of food is breaking my heart!
