- Cassiopaeia Narcissa (Cassie), chessie/lab, 13 yrs
- When was your dog diagnosed with ME?
- September 2008
- What meds is your dog currently taking for ME and related syndromes?
- DIET
*broth consistency only *can't handle even baby oatmeal*
*Purina puppy large breed kibble soaked in boiling water
*blenderized with enough water to make it brothy
*fed 5 to 6 times a day, depending on how much she can handle at one time
that day, or as many times as she asks
*the all-important late night feeding
(between 9 and 11 p.m. helps her sleep like a puppy)
MEDICATIONS
*1 famotidine and 1 omeprazole in both a.m. and p.m.
with occasional famotidine for breakthrough symptoms -
on cipro now for AP
all given in honey - yummy!!!
*occasional Metacam for arthritis pain relief
PHYSICAL ARRANGEMENTS
*incline eating - tolerates this very well
*corner-sitting after meals - snuggle time :-)
*incline sleeping and napping
*lots of outdoor time, lying sphinx-like,
watching the world go by and smelling the breeze

our new year's resolution has been to spend as much time together enjoying ourselves. we have been going strong here since the dx in sept with cass, only getting better. but we now have AP and, though she is not "sickly" , she is gacking up several times a day and does not sleep well at night. so we are on an adjusted schedule around here :0) we have hauled out the humidifier and converted all of the "good" towels to dog towels, and i now have a 2 a.m. reservation every morning ( the witching, e… Continue
